Among our team of experts are trailblazers in cancer research and technology, including the pioneer of breast brachytherapy and first-ever Arizona doctor to perform da Vinci® Single-Site™ gynecological robotic surgery, respectively. Universally admired, our team also recently entered into a long-term relationship with HonorHealth, wherein our doctors are now leading radiation oncology services and treatment at both the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center and HonorHealth Osborn campus.

We have been honored as among one of Arizona’s Most Admired Companies and individually, our physicians have been recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal, Phoenix Magazine, Az Business Magazine and others as healthcare leaders changing the face of cancer care in our state.

OUR MISSION
Arizona Center for Cancer Care’s mission is to offer comprehensive care to patients and establish the highest quality cancer treatment in Arizona.

Truly a cancer center without walls, Arizona Center for Cancer Care’s services stretch across the Valley. We are able to offer cancer patients and their families the best doctors, best treatment technologies and best medical trials in the country.

HISTORY
The seeds for Arizona Center for Cancer Care were initially planted in 1992 when respected Valley physician Dr. Devinder Singh formed Arizona Center for Hematology and Oncology.

Steady growth followed, and, in 2002, the practice grew to three physicians – Drs. Singh as well as Drs. Joan Dahmer and Christopher Verdi. By 2006, Arizona Center for Hematology and Oncology added a fourth physician, Dr. Parmjeet Banghar.

But Dr. Singh had bigger goals – and a vision; to become the first ever multi-specialty cancer practice group in the West Valley.

In 2008, this vision became a reality as Arizona Center for Hematology and Oncology brought on two more physicians, Drs. James Choi and Clarence Adoo, expanded to add PET/CT services, and partnered with leading radiation oncologists Dr. Daniel Reed, Dr. Christopher Biggs and Dr. Terry Lee. Now able to provide hematology, oncology, PET/CT and radiation oncology services, Arizona Center for Cancer Care was born.

Arizona Center for Cancer Care quickly became the first of its kind to offer patients in areas like the West Valley Brachytherapy treatment, which is an effective, less-invasive treatment for prostate, breast, lung, esophageal, gynecologic and head/neck cancers, among others. They also became the first to invest in and offer Radiosurgery to the area using a state-of-the-art technology called RapidArc® radiation therapy. This very precise form of therapeutic radiation uses beams of radiation to treat cancerous tissues without a surgical incision or opening, allowing patients to receive treatment in as little as 10 minutes, compared to the several hours it used to take with older technologies like the cyberknife and gamma knife.

By 2010, Arizona Center for Cancer Care added urology services.

And, in 2012, the team expanded its patient services even farther, bringing on renowned gynecologic oncologist Dr. Ivor Benjamin, another first for the West Valley.

Also in 2012, Arizona Center for Cancer Care built on its initial vision of providing the West Valley with multi-specialty cancer treatment services and technologies – it was time to expand to provide service across Maricopa County.

So, over the next two years, Arizona Center for Cancer Care would grow from 32 physicians providing service throughout the West Valley to nearly 60 specialists working in more than 35 offices across the Valley including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Deer Valley, Peoria, Avondale, Glendale, Surprise and Wickenburg.

Today, Arizona Center for Cancer Care is able to provide multi-specialty treatment and care to more than 30,000 patients across the Valley.

Cancer is a disease of survivors – and Arizona Center for Cancer Care is keeping it that way.
