After meeting Michelle Steinke Baumgard on social media, I began following her and her amazing story. She lost her first husband in a horrible plane crash and had two small children. Giving up her corporate high paying job that brought her no joy, she decided to get into shape and, by working out, subduing her grief. Through that portion of her life, she created One Fit Widow where she could help other women (and men) who had lost their spouses. She decided to write a book, leading others to healing and optimal health following loss. She knew I was a professional editor/proofreader and copywriter, and reached out when she completed her manuscript. She wanted me to help her write the synopsis. In the meantime, she had moved to Montana and actually flew into Phoenix so we could work together for a week and get it right the first time. She married again, and now has a blended family with her wonderful husband, Keith and his two children. Movement, Nutrition, Mindfulness, & Nature Coach

Michelle, the founder of One Fit Widow and My1FitLife, has an extensive background that was born out of her family’s tragedy. Michelle’s Wellness background is diverse and includes not only numerous fitness certifications but extensive nutritional credentials, and she is a TRE Provider (Tension Releasing Exercises) as well. Michelle has contributed to and written for outlets such as The Huffington Post and Prevention Magazine, and she has been featured in Shape, Fitness, and Woman’s Day, to name a few. Michelle also is the best-selling author of, Healthy Healing, a revoluntary book that looks at grief and how we can utilize fitness to heal after trauma. In our Quest program, Michelle offers inspiration, tough trainer love, weekly 10-20 minute video workouts, and nonstop cheerleading and support.

Movement, Mobility, Motivation & Nature Coach
Keith, the co-founder of My1FitLife, is a life-long advocate of fitness who also used exercise as a way to help deal with loss in his life. Keith has a degree in Exercise Science. He is a life-long learner who studies the body relentlessly, especially in regards to staying mobile through proper stretching and safe lifting techniques. Keith runs a popular series in our Quest Wellness Program called “Mobility Monday,” where he gives our clients tips and tricks for keeping their joints and muscles in top form. Example of Keith’s Mobility Monday. In addition the work Keith does with Quest, he is also a Nols Wilderness First Responder, a true industry leader in outdoor safety and preparation.

You can take anyone into the gym and motivate them to live fit for a day, but if you take them into nature, you can inspire them for life! That’s the motto of Michelle Steinke-Baumgard and Keith Baumgard from My1FitLife. Six years ago, Michelle and Keith joined together and started what has become much more than just a fitness company; they have created a tribe, a community and a feeling that inspires you long after you leave their retreats.
